Buckwheat kasha with milk

(Grechnevaya kasha na moloke)

Servings: 4

1 cup buckwheat groats

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons sugar

2 oz butter

3.5 cups milk


Liquid buckwheat kasha with milk makes for a great breakfast – and it’s very simple to make.
Place one cup of buckwheat groats in a pot and cleanse with a whisk just like described here.

Pour 2 cups of water over the cleaned buckwheat, add salt and cook until all the water boils over.

Add the milk to the pot with the buckwheat, add the sugar and butter.

Bring to a boil and take off the stove.

Pour into bowls for breakfast. Slightly sweet taste of this kasha with milk is completely different of the regular buckwheat kasha.
